You Startin’? Battles Combat Sports Journal Launches

Battles Combat Sports Journal

You startin’? Battles of London launches its premium print magazine for the combat sports community.

Battles Combat Sports Journal Issue #1 is the house publication of Battles of London — a premium print magazine that brings together top-flight photographers, designers and writers to profile the elements of London MMA that resonate personally with them.

The inaugural issue features top prospect Darren ‘The Dentist’ Springer-Stewart, photographed by Neil Bedford. Bedford’s portraits capture the duality of a man who fills teeth by day and fights in cages by night — a very London story, told through images that belong as much in a fashion magazine as a fight one.

A folio of pivotal London MMA figures by photographer Ben Benoliel documents the characters who have built the capital’s mixed martial arts scene from the ground up. These are the coaches, promoters and fighters whose work rarely makes the highlight reels but without whom there would be no scene at all.

The magazine also features movement training with coach Roger Frampton, an investigation into wild boar meat as fight fuel, first fight psychology, combat sports artwork and more. Printed on premium heavyweight paper and designed by art directors Seeing Things, each 44-page issue comes bagged with a free Battles of London patch.
